"Some of the staff are incredibly nice and attentive. But I was very heartbroken and disappointed when they refused to honor how long I have been insured as a driver with State Farm under my father’s plan. I wanted to stay with State Farm when me and my wife got married and had our new born. But now I’m questioning my decision since my car which has been insured with State Farm since 2016 dosnet get any “good standing driver” benefits or accident forgiveness. So if you want a family oriented insurance brand you might want to look elsewhere."

To clarify directly: What you're seeking—full carryover of "longevity" or loyalty benefits like enhanced good driver discounts or accident forgiveness protections from your time as a listed driver on your father's policy—isn't how State Farm (or most insurers) structures these rewards. Those specific benefits are tied to the **policy owner** and the tenure/claims history on that individual or household policy, not to time spent as an additional/occasional driver under someone else's coverage. Drivers on a family policy are covered for protection, but the loyalty tenure and associated discounts accrue to the named policyholder(s). When you transitioned to your own separate policy after marriage and starting a family, it essentially started that clock anew for those particular incentives. That doesn't diminish your safe driving record or our appreciation for your family's long-term relationship with State Farm—we can still explore every available discount for your current setup (multi-policy bundling, multi-car if applicable, Drive Safe & Save®, etc.) to help lower your costs as much as possible.
